The company was founded in 1996 in Morro d’Oro, among the hills of Teramo, between the sea and the Gran Sasso. Gennaro Montecchia decided to breathe new life into an old, abandoned olive mill, and thus one of the first continuous cycle plants in Italy was born. It marks the beginning of a story driven by the constant pursuit of superior quality and a passion for experimenting with new production techniques. It’s a story of trials, collaboration with engineers, universities, and tasters, a story of mistakes and solutions. It’s a revolution in the world of olive oil.

From the care of the olive trees to bottling and labeling, the services at Frantoio Montecchia cover every step of the production chain, including for third parties.
For nearly thirty years, we have been working with private individuals, farms, and wineries, using technologically advanced tools, knowledge, and a deep respect for nature.
Pruning is the first step in the care and prevention of the trees: it guides the olive trees’ growth and prepares them for harvest. Frantoio Montecchia also offers consultation services and organizes training courses every year.
Harvesting is done using a shaker machine or by hand.
The extraction is done cold using state-of-the-art equipment.
The technicians at the mill work to preserve all the nutritional and organoleptic properties of the fruit, always processed within 24 hours of harvesting.
Olive collection, oil delivery, and BIO and PDO certifications are also available for third parties.
The extra virgin olive oil is stored in steel tanks, protected from oxygen and light, in a consistently temperature-controlled environment.
Along with packaging, we offer label graphic design services for those who wish to market their oil under their own brand.
